“Sunita tutored my son Sean for three years of math and he also took the ACT prep class. Without her help and guidance, Sean would not have understood or passed those math classes. With Sunita's help, Sean's grades went from D's to B's in high school and he received a B in his college math class. Math was not his strong suit but Sunita not only gave him the tools to problem solve but the confidence to succeed in class and especially on tests and exams. Sean graduated from MATC with an associate degree in TV and Video Production with a certificate in Post Video Production (editing) in May of 2016. He is now working at WSAW in Wausau as a Technical Media Producer.”

My son started falling behind in math in 7th grade, when his teacher spent more time chatting than teaching. My son became frustrated because he’s always wanted to be an engineer, and he knew if he fell behind, it would hinder him later on. A friend recommended Sunita’s math tutoring service, and I’m so glad we went to her. Not only did she quickly get my son back up to speed, but she took him well beyond the level of math he was learning in school. She also taught him how to approach math problems in a non-traditional way, which was so helpful as math classes became more complex. Sunita also introduced him to ACT prep early, so he got a head start in learning how to take the test successfully. It’s now several years later, and my son is a junior in Mechanical Engineering at his top-choice university, UW-Madison. Currently, he’s completing a co-op with an aerospace company – his dream job! We are so appreciative to Sunita and her calm, encouraging, and caring way of teaching kids.

Patience, dedication, passion, helpfulness, knowledge, and kindness are only a few key characteristics to describe Sunita. My brother and I came in for help with composite scores of 23 on our ACT. Sunita gave us essential feedback and personalized attention which addressed our shortcomings along with our strengths, allowing us to focus directly on steady improvement. With her patience, we turned our weaknesses into our strengths, and for this we are so thankful to her. Through her constant guidance and dedication to teaching we were able to score composite scores of 30 and 33 on our ACT’s allowing us to attend colleges of our choice. Thanks to the long-lasting work ethic and study skills she was able to instill in us, we will both be attending medical school together this year! We were able to achieve our dream of attending the same medical school, thanks to Sunita’s help and guidance. We consider Sunita far more than a teacher; she is our mentor without whom we would not be in the wonderful place we are today.

When our children changed schools in sixth grade , they struggled to keep up with the math homework, and were moved into a slower, self -paced computerized learning environment in seventh grade. We were told that with tutoring, our kids might be able to catch up and move back to the regular classroom. We met with Sunita and felt she would be a good match for our kids as a tutor. She is a calm, patient individual who clearly loves math, loves teaching math and strives to make her students successful at math. Sunita tutored our children in algebra after school and on weekends for more than a year. She provided a supportive learning environment for our kids and guided me, as a parent, to advocate for our children at this new school when we were told they were not ready for geometry in 9th grade since their self -paced group at school had not moved that far along yet. Sunita, however, had been teaching our children grade level algebra, and told me that they were capable of doing high school geometry in ninth grade. This realization helped us as parents to make a decision to leave that private school which had failed to re- evaluate our children's readiness to progress in math with their classmates. We decided to send our kids to a public high school where they could thrive, rather than be held back in math. With Sunita's expert teaching, our kids started high school by taking geometry their freshman year, and went from believing they were not good at math in middle school to having the confidence in high school to take advanced math classes. Our son was able to take both advanced placement calculus classes (AB and BC) by his junior year, passed both AP examinations and ultimately finished his senior year in high school by completing college level Calculus 3. He tested into differential equations his freshman year at UW Madison and ultimately graduated with a math- heavy physics degree. Our daughter completed calculus AB in high school , passed the examination, and tested into calculus at UW Madison. She has since completed 2 bachelor degrees in neurobiology and nursing. I feel that without Sunita's help and advice during those middle school years, our children may not be where they are today in their chosen careers. I am forever grateful to her, and cannot recommend her more highly as a math teacher.
